Updated: Lady Tigers fall to Greeneview – Thursday volleyball scores

Several area volleyball teams were in action Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls fell to Greeneview in 5 sets: 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 25-15, and 11-15.

Jamie Peterson recorded 12 kills and 9 aces, Kylee Hormann tallied 8 aces and 7 kills, and Kaylin Frederick had 6 kills.

The West Liberty-Salem JV girls beat Greeneview in 2 sets: 25-22 and 25-15.

Miranda Etgen scored 8 points and Kelby Strapp added 3 kills.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team dropped a 3-set match to visiting Urbana on Thursday evening. The scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-10. The Lady Raiders fall to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in league play.

The JV Raiders lost to Urbana in 3 exciting sets dropping their record to 9-2.

Betsy King recorded 4 kills and 4 blocks, Coreen Crosby recorded 5 kills and 10 service points, and Bri Frazier tallied 5 kills, 10 assists, and 10 points.

The freshman Raiders will host a tri-match on Saturday with the first game starting at 10:00.

The Benjamin Logan JV and varsity are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Greenon for another CBC contest. Game time is 5:30.

The Calvary Christian varsity beat Oakstone Academy in four games. The scores were 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-18.

Baylee Durnell led the attack with 6 kills and 4 digs, Mia Printz had 2 saves, and Nathalie Thompson added 2 digs.

The Spartans are 2-1.

Jr. High:

The Benjamin Logan 8th grade team fell to Riverside in 3 sets: 23-25, 25-19, and 22-25.

Brooke Cotner had 7 points, 3 aces, and a block, Kinzie Jones recorded 10 aces, and Sabrina Lloyd added a kill.

The Benjamin Logan 7th grade team swept Riverside 25-6, 25-12.

Sydney Kossel had 20 points and 13 aces, Maddison Manns tallied 3 aces, and Lexi Worrell added an ace.

The Bellefontaine 7th grade team fell to Kenton 25-10, 25-20.

Meghan Pooler had 5 points and Jalen Brown tallied 4 points.

Avery Moore led the defense at the net while Olivia Robbins delivered excellent passes.

The Chiefs will play Tipp City on Monday.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade defeated Triad in 2 sets: 25-9 and 25-14.

Tory Cordell totaled 14 points and Allie Yoder added 13 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade defeated Triad in 3 sets: 25-18, 19-25, and 25-21.

Kelsey Day produced 15 points and Hallie Strapp contributed 14 points.
