Chieftain golfers earn runner-up at Russ Hogue Invitational, Lady Lakers win invite

Many local high school golf teams were in action Tuesday.

The Russ Hogue Invitational was held at Cherokee Hills.

Bellefontaine finished 2nd with a 318. Northwestern won the invitational with a 314.

For the Chiefs, Cody Lyons shot a 77, Jarrett Beck tallied a 78, Cody Hullinger carded an 80, Devin Fowler fired an 83, Connor Adelsberger recorded an 85, and Nate Langenfeld had an 87.

The Chiefs compete in the Raider Invitational at Tree Links Wednesday.

Benjamin Logan placed 3rd with a 336.

For the Raiders, Grant Ricketts was medalist with a 73, T.J. Finks shot an 87, Tanner Rader and Garret Dunn each tallied an 88, Collin Headings had a 97, and Alex Bickham contributed a 107.

Indian Lake was 5th with a 352.

For the Lakers, Caleb Meadows tallied a 74, Randall Henson shot an 80, Quenten Staley carded an 83, Jalon Tuttle tallied a 115, and Jeromy Ridenbaugh and Joe Corwin each contributed a 124.

Riverside took 7th with a 434.

For the Pirates, Landon Kelsey fired an 88, Ross Stevens shot a 101, Jared Trabert carded a 116, Luke Lowery tallied a 129, Derek Kobylack added a 139, and Andrew Wright had a 198.

The West Liberty-Salem boys won the Champaign County Tournament at Indian Springs with a 321.

Urbana, Graham, Triad, and Mechanicsburg rounded out the top 5.

For the Tigers, Nick Sims fired a 77, Kannon Stillings tallied an 80, Jacob Rutan and Ethan McBean each carded an 82, Dillon Callicoat shot a 93, and Casey Gay had a 96.

The Indian Lake girls won the Benjamin Logan Invitational at Tree Links.

The team totaled a 370.

For the Lady Lakers, Morgan Barnett was the medalist with an 82, Sean Pusey carded an 84, Kylie Speicher shot a 96, Ashley Wall had a 108, and Murphy Oberle tallied a 123.

The Bellefontaine girls also competed in the Benjamin Logan Invitational.

For the Lady Chiefs, Chelsea McLaughlin shot an 89, Sarah Hall fired a 103, Kathleen Coakley tallied a 123, and Emily Fulmer carded a 139.
