West Liberty 12u Force wins weekend tournament – Monday scores

A couple area ball clubs were in action recently.

The West Liberty Force 12u girls finished the season by winning the Final Fling Softball Tournament in Marysville Sunday.

The team played great defense lead by the pitching of Hayden Giles, Maddie Estes, and Jenni Kaffenbarger.

The entire team also had the bats rolling.

Monday Co-ed Games from Emil Davis Park (pictured):

Game 1:

Best Door & Window shut out Subway of Indian Lake 18-0.

For Best Door, Ed Burkhammer belted a grand slam and Jenna Poppe added a homer.

Game 2:

Snows Detailing topped DeGraff Creamery 20-6.

For Snows, Jeff Wilcox ripped 3 home runs and Josh Bray and Whitney Jenkins each added a homer.

Game 3:

Snows Detailing defeated Subway of Indian Lake 19-8.

For Snows, Henry Boswell recorded 2 home runs and Jeff Wilcoxon and Josh Bray each smacked a homer.

For Subway, Mike Lensman contributed a home run.

Game 4:

Best Door & Window beat DeGraff Creamery 13-1.

For Best Door, Tasha May and Ed Burkhammer each had a homer.

Bellefontaine Area Church Softball League from Monday:

Hopewell United Methodist Church defeated Bellefontaine Church of God # 2 19-5.

The loss was Church of God #2’s first loss in the double elimination tournament.

Rushsylvania Church of Christ topped First Baptist Church of Urbana 20-8.

The loss is First Baptist Church Urbana’s first loss of the tournament.
