Updated: BPD claims City Farm League crown, Rushsylvania Farm edges Ridgeway – Wednesday scorecard (Audio & video included)

Several local ball teams were in action Wednesday.

City Farm League crowned its 2013 champion after two games Wednesday night.

BPD won the first game over AcuSport 11-6 to force a second game.

The second game came down to the final play as BPD was able to edge AcuSport 11-10 in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Second game stats:

For BPD, T.J. Kerns scored 3 runs, doubled, and drove in the game winning run, Jarrid Baughman tallied 2 runs and tripled, Jacob Mitchell recorded 2 runs and a double, and Aden Downing, Doby Orahood, and Christian Griffith each contributed a run.

From the mound for BPD, Jarrid Baughman sat down 10 batters, Downing struck out 3, and Orahood added 2 strikeouts.

For AcuSport, Robby Wildermuth scored 2 runs and Cameron Kline, Ethan Moore, Connor Rose, Brady Burden, Cole Horne, Caiden Zachrich, Hayden Overly, and D.J. Miller each added a run.

Pitching for AcuSport, Moore struck out 8 batters, Rose recorded 3 strikeouts, and Kline added a strikeout.

First game stats:

For BPD, Jarrid Baughman scored 2 runs and tripled, Aden Downing doubled and tallied a run, and Jeremy Baughman, Doby Orahood, T.J. Kerns, Tucker Ridenbaugh, Jason Willoughby, Braden Frazier, Christian Griffith, and Clayton Fissel each added a run.

For AcuSport, Ethan Moore scored 2 runs, Robby Wildermuth doubled and scored a run, Dhalin Damron doubled, and Cameron Kline and Connor Rose each scored a run.

BPD finished the season at 18-3 and AcuSport ended their season at 13-4.

AcuSport includes Cameron Kline, Ethan Moore, Connor Rose, Dhalin Damron, Robby Wildermuth, Brady Burden, Levon Howard, Cole Horne, John Kinchen, Caiden Zachrich, Hayden Overly, D.J. Miller, Coach Tom Rose, and Coach Heath Moore.

Here is a team photo of the BPD team that won the Farm League title in 1963. This was the first year that BPD sponsored a team and they didn’t have uniforms yet. The league provided uniforms from the defunct PTO team from the previous year.

Rushsylvania Farm #1 Pheasants Forever beat Ridgeway 6-4.

Landyn Inglis and Briggs Defibaugh each homered.

Carter Reese, Hunter Kennaw, and Carter Bray each had hits.

Carter Reese earned the win and Carter Bray recorded the save. They combined for 13 strikeouts.

Rushsylvania Farm # 1 Pheasants Forever is 11-4-1 on the season.

Washington #2 defeated West Liberty #1 13-3.

Reece Lensman and Logan Evans each belted a home run and Kyle LeVan tripled with 3 RBIs.


Bellefontaine Easton Water fell to Piqua 3-0.

Bellefontaine managed one hit, a bunt single by Auston Benton.

Jarrod Houchin fired a three-hitter with six strikeouts.

Bellefontaine is now 12-3 and will play Indian Lake at home on Friday in a doubleheader starting at 6 pm.
