Local travel team dominates Urbana tournament

The Logan County Cubs 13U travel baseball team won the Strike Out Cancer tournament in Urbana over the weekend.

The Cubs defeated the Fenton Crush from Flint, Michigan twice and defeated the Troy Chaos.

In the finals, the local team beat the South Dayton Jets.

The Cubs did not allow a run throughout the tournament.

Pony League:

East Liberty Middleburg outscored Lakeview 18-8 Tuesday night.

Pitchers Kris Ackley and Zane Scheiderer combined for 12 strikeouts.

Josh Whitten had four hits, including two doubles and a triple.

Austin Nicholl and Toby Stettler each added two hits.

8U:

Belle Center Kossel Trucking beat Huntsville #2.

Jillian Plikerd belted a grand slam and Payton Shaw had a three-run homer.

Belle Center enjoyed a perfect regular season and postseason.

Bantam League:

Best Door and Window played Kiwanis Tuesday.

For Best Door and Window, Jaxon Hoskins smacked a three-run homer.

Quinn Allmon, Blake McDonald, and Lucas Harrington each had three hits.

Church League Softball:

Bellefontaine First Church of God #1 beat Reality Outreach Church #1 12-9.

Bellefontaine First Church of God #1 then defeated Gretna Brethren Church 17-10.
