West Liberty-Salem senior and defending champ Meghan Vogel (pictured) ran to a third-place finish in the 1600 at the Division III state track meet Saturday at Jesse Owens Stadium.
Vogel finished in 5:00.28.
Senior Alexandra Markovich of Hawken won the event in 4:57.88.
Julia Rizk, a sophomore from Columbus Academy, was runner-up in 4:59.95.
Sophomore Emily Borchers of Russia placed eighth in 5:06.90.
Vogel also finished in 11th in the 800 with a time of 2:20.00.
The Lady Tigers 4x100 relay team of Michaela Rausch, Abigail Rabenstein, Megan Etgen, and Morgan Freyhof sprinted to a third-place finish in 49.91, which is a new school record.

For the boys, the Tigers 4x400 relay team of Ross Hickenbottom, Taylor Cordell, Kelvin Shank, and Conner Karg grabbed 6th place in a personal best time of 3:24.2.
Cordell also competed in the 110 hurdle prelims.
In the Division I meet, sophomore Brenda Johnson scored a 6th place in the shot put for Bellefontaine. She set a new school record at 41'10.75".
Also competing for the Chiefs was senior pole vaulter Alexa Haushalter. She finished 15th by clearing 10'6".
Two Fairlawn standouts captured state titles on Friday.
Senior Trey Everett won the Division III high jump title by clearing 6'6".
Mechanicsburg senior Brandon Welch finished fifth at 6'4".
Everett finished sixth in long jump at 21'3.5".
Senior Olivia Cummings won the shot put in Division III with a distance of 45'8.5". She won the event by three-quarters of an inch.
Freshman Megan Fogt of Anna was ninth at 39'2".
Cummings placed sixth in discus with a throw of 135'9".
Jackson Center freshman Nicole Fogt was 14th at 108'6".
