The senior center mid signed a letter of intent with the University of Northwestern Ohio during a ceremony at Indian Lake High School Friday afternoon.

Carpenter was joined by his family, school administrators, and high school soccer coach Jon Shoffstall.

Carpenter was a key member of the Lakers varsity squad the last three years.

He had an outstanding senior campaign, earning First-Team All CBC and Second-Team All Miami Valley.

Carpenter was known for his endurance and toughness. He rarely left the playing field.

Indian Lake went 9-9 overall and 5-6 in the CBC last fall. The nine wins is a single season school record.

Carpenter said UNOH was the only school he considered. He learned about the program from Indian Lake alum Chase Vance, who plays for the Racers.
