Bellefontaine girls, Benjamin Logan boys capture league track titles

Two local track teams repeated as CBC champs Friday night at Dodd Stadium (pictured).

For the second straight year, the Bellefontaine girls won the 12-team league meet.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Benjamin Logan boys team won the CBC Mad River title.

The Springfield Shawnee boys won the Kenton Trail division and finished first overall.

The Lady Chiefs easily captured the league crown with 121 points. Tipp City followed with 88.5 points.

Greenon won the Mad River division with 71.5 points. Benjamin Logan and Urbana tied for second in the Mad River with 66 points.

Several Lady Chiefs won league titles, including Regan Price in the 200, Rebecca Carman in the 100 hurdles, Jazmyn Haley in the discus, Alexa Haushalter in the pole vault, and the 4x100 relay team of Price, Kameren Haley, Ashley Artis, and Jessica Kinchen.

Earlier in the week, sophomore Brenda Johnson took first in shot put.

For the Benjamin Logan girls, Tayler Rose won the long jump.

Madison Leis was second in pole vault and Monica Mannings finished runner-up in the 100.

Senior Marissa Wilbur was third in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Mannings took fourth in the 200.

Ciarra Wirick placed sixth in the pole vault and 100 hurdles. Wilbur finished sixth in the long jump.

The 4x200 relay team of Mannings, Alex Thompson, Wilbur, and Wirick finished sixth.

Jennifer Poling was eighth in discus.

The 4x800 relay of Lindsey Longbrake, Hannah Boysel, Lauren Johns, and Morgan Allen placed eighth.

Earlier in the week, Alex Thompson won the league title in high jump.

Several members of the Benjamin Logan boys team scored points Friday.

Senior Craig Boling won the 110 and 300 hurdles. The speedster was named the CBC Mad River division male athlete of the year.

Jeremy Brisson was second in the 100 and fourth in the 200.

The 4x100 relay of Matt Wilt, Mack Horton, Boling, and Brisson finished second.

Tanner Penwell was second in shot put.

Landon Johnson placed third in discus and seventh in shot put.

Davis Bowers was eighth in pole vault.

Local track teams will compete in their respective district meet next week.
