Area youth ball clubs play multiple weekend games, preseason champs crowned

Area youth ball clubs were in action over the weekend.

Indian Lake Middle School softball played 5 games.

The Jr. Lady Lakers defeated Benjamin Logan 8-4, beat St. Wendelin 8-7, topped Ottawa-Glandorf 4-1, tied Kenton 3-3, and won over Ottawa-Glandorf 13-3.

The Jr. Lady Lakers are the #2 seed going into tournament play at Emil Davis Park on Friday at 6 p.m.

Benjamin Logan Gold went 2-1.

On Friday, Gold lost to Indian Lake 8-4.

Brieanne Frazier tallied 3 RBIs.

On Sunday, Benjamin Logan Gold defeated Riverdale 9-1.

Kinzie Jones and Addie Rodenberger handled the pitching duties, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 13. Stevie Plikerd had 2 hits, Tahlsa Bowsher belted a home run, Kinzie Jones tripled, and Daelyn Stanton, Taylor Keen, and Rodenberger each doubled.

In the final game, Benjamin Logan Gold defeated Benjamin Logan Black 11-4.

Kinzie Jones struck out 10 batters, Tahlsa Bowsher homered and tripled, Maddie Jones recorded 2 hits, and Addie Rodenberger doubled. 

They finished their season 8-3.

The Huntsville #2 (31 Tracey Notestine) 10u softball team won the Logan County preseason tournament.

Allix Cotterman struck out 17 in the championship game. The team outscored their opponents 39-9 in the tournament.

Huntsville #1 played 9 games to win the 8u softball preseason championship.

Breauna Drake belted four home runs, Mackenzie Peterson recorded three home runs, and Ali Osborne added a homer.

Huntsville #2 (pictured) took 2nd place in 8u preseason tournament in DeGraff. They were defeated by Huntsville #1 in two games.

Huntsville #2 players include Tori Roby, Isabell Brunson, Hannah Kemp, Callie Burba, Adeline Robinson, Kati Roby, Katelynn Norris, Regan McPheron, Riley Rash, Hannah Marlow, Emily Harford, Halle Roby, Ava Huffman, and Makenzie Dixon along with coaches Rash, Dixon, Marlow, Roby and Brunson.

The Bellefontaine Vipers won the Logan County Farm League Preseason Tournament in baseball.

The Vipers defeated Bellefontaine 10u 17-2 in the final.

Carter Reese, Alex Pulfer, and John Zamberger combined for 13 strikeouts.

Cadin Stoner doubled twice. Alex Pulfer, Cameron Pulfer, and Charter Reese each tallied 2 hits.

The Vipers finished 4-0 and will return to action on Memorial Day at the Bellefontaine Tournament.
