Jr. Raiders sweep home meet, Middle School Lady Tigers run to big win – track scoreboard

The Benjamin Logan Jr. High boys track team won a home tri-meet against North Union and Graham with 70 points Monday night.

Winning events for the boys were the 4x100 relay of Andy Griffith, Clay Bibart, Preston Cozad, and Julian Cain in a time of 50.40, the 4x200 relay team of Austin Nicholl, Mason Roberts, Gabe VanDyke, and Julian Cain in a time of 1:51, and the 4x400 relay of Mitch Current, Gabe VanDyke, Justin Jordan, and Bryden Penhorwood in a time of 4:19, Mason Roberts in the discus in 103’3”, Logan Cox in the pole vault in 8’6”, Andy Griffith in the 110m hurdles in 18.5, Clay Bibart in the 100m dash in 12.2, and Justin Jordan in the 800m in 2:30.

Finishing second for the team were Clay Bibart in the shot put in 37’5”, Julian Cain in the 110m hurdles in 19.7, Justin Jordan in the 1600m in 5:20, Bryden Penhorwood in the 200m hurdles in 31.1, and Preston Cozad in the 200m dash in 26.8.

Finishing third for the team were Michael Elizondo in the high jump in 4’6”, Austin Nicholl in the discus in 99’11”, Bryden Penhorwood in the pole vault in 6’6”, Grant Ward in the 1600m in 5:47, and Austin Nicholl in the 200m hurdles in 31.7.

Finishing fourth for the team were Andy Griffith in the high jump in 4’4”, Garrett Nicholl in the discus in 89’4”, Colton Jones in the pole vault in 6’6”, Jake Henman in the 1600m in 5:58, and Grant Ward in the 800m in 2:40.

The team will be back in action at the Graham Middle School Invitational Thursday.

The Benjamin Logan Jr. High girls track team won a tri-meet at home Monday night scoring 73 points to Graham's 39 and North Union's 33.

Top finishers for the Raiders included:

Aly Brose tied a school record by running the 100m hurdles in 16.9 seconds. She also won the 200m hurdles in 31.8.

Coreen Crosby won the shot put (33-11) and the high jump (4'6").

Khloe Camper won the 100m dash (14.0).

Jessica Hillery won the discus (58-8) and was second in the shot put (26-2).

Erica Wilson won the pole vault (7').

The 4x200m relay team of Dawn Birt, Courtney VanWinkle, Keirstyn Terry, and Khloe Camper was first in 2:04.9.

The 4x400m relay team of Allison Wilson, Aly Brose, Khloe Camper, and Coreen Crosby was first in 4:39.0.

Allison Wilson was second in the 100m hurdles (18.0) and the 200m hurdles (33.9).

Andrea Easter was second in the discus (57-10) and third in the shot put (25-9.5).

The 4x100m relay team of Mackenzie McManus, Keirstyn Terry, Lauren LeVan, and Jacey Scheffel was second (1:01.7).

Keirstyn Terry was second in pole vault (6') and Mackenzie McManus was second in the 100m dash (14.4).

Dawn Birt was 3rd in the 800m run (2:59.5) and Lauren LeVan was 4th in the 400m Dash (1:17.5).

The girls will run at the Graham Invitational on Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem Middle School girls won a five-team meet at home Monday.

Scoring: WLS 138, Mechanicsburg 81, Cedarville 68, Triad 23, Calvary Christian 0

Placing first for the WLS girls were:

Sophie Farquarson- shot put

Mariana Shank- long jump

Maegan Cordell- 100 meter hurdles

Reghan Bieleski- 1600 meters and 800 meters

Taylor Lauck- 400 meters

Tory Cordell- 200 meters

4x400 relay of Taylor Lauck, Janie Kopus, Jenna Magnuson, and Reghan Bieleski

4x100 relay of Laine Godwin, Taylor Lauck, Tory Cordell, and Aubrie Stillings

Finishing second included:

Sierra McCall- high jump

Reagan Hormann- pole vault

Laine Godwin- 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter hurdles

Aubrie Stillings- 100 meter dash

Tory Cordell- 200 meter hurdles

Katie Hartsel- 800 meters

4x200 relay of Maegan Cordell, Kaeley Lattimer, Sophie Farquarson, and Sierra McCall

The West Liberty-Salem Middle School boys team finished second.

Brandon Wolfe won the 100 meter dash, long jump, and anchored the first place 4x400 relay team along with Moell, Williams, and Woods.

Levi Moell also won the 110 hurdles.

Sam Strickland was 2nd in the 800 and 1600.

Several Calvary Christian boys placed, including:

Andrew Reinhard 2nd 110mH (20.18), 5th 200mH (33.23)

Tyler Reinhard 3rd long jump (14'0")

Jon Salmonowicz 5th long jump (13'7.75")

Garrett Criner 5th 200m (31.07)

4x200m team of Andrew Reinhard, Tyler Reinhard, Jon Salmonowicz, and Garrett Criner earned 3rd (2:00.43).
