Local teams place high at twirling competition

A couple area teams were in action at a Twirling Unlimited Competition in Toledo over the weekend.

Razz-M-Tazz Studios had several high finishers.

Katie Hartsel and Kierstin Diener placed 1st in the duet show, Cassidy Stephan finished 1st in the basic strut, Keara Henry was 2nd in flag solo, and Reagin Anderson recorded 3rd in the solo show.

The novelty show team place 3rd. Team members included Reagin Anderson, Reede Anderson, Kierstin Diener, Katie Hartsel, Keara Henry, Cassidy Stephan, and Nichole Stephan.

Razz-M-Tazz will compete again in Columbus to qualify for the Jr. Olympics.

Razz-M-Tazz is coached by Dana Burton, Lucretia Grogan, and Kathy Watkins.

The Benjamin Logan High School Color Guard and Majorettes also competed in Toledo.

The team earned 1st place in the color guard and majorettes divisions. Color guard team members were Jessica LeVan, Tori Link, Nikki Reames, LuAnn Savage, Holly Parker, Hannah Craig, Tesia Deardurff, Paige Yelton, Tara Deardurff, Hayley Phillips, and Kaiti Smith. The majorette’s team consisted of Taylor McNamara and Emmalee Rumney.

Individual awards went to Kaiti Smith for 1st place rifle solo, Emmalee Rumney for 1st place baton solo, and Tesia Deardurff for 2nd place baton solo.
