Updated: Tigers and Raiders square off in dual sport doubleheaders - baseball/softball scoreboard

West Liberty-Salem and Benjamin Logan split a softball doubleheader that featured fine pitching performances.

The Tigers outdueled the Raiders in the first game 2-1.

Rachel Loffing tossed a five-hitter for the win.

Courtney Stewart pitched a four-hitter, picking up the hard-luck loss.

The Raiders won their game 5-3. Kate Campbell gave up just five hits for the win. Stewart recorded the final out for the save.

Stewart and Brooklyn Terrill each had a pair of hits, with Terrill recording three RBI for the winners.

Melany Ward was tagged with the loss for the Tigers

Riverside was shut down on the road by Fort Loramie, falling 8-0. Taylor Goings had two of the four Lady Pirate hits.

The Pirates responded by routing Lehman 17-0 behind Christyn Wietholter’s two-hit pitching performance.


West Liberty-Salem pounded Benjamin Logan in both games of a doubleheader.

The Tigers won the first game 17-5.

For the Tigers, Grant Burden led the way with three each hits, runs, and RBI; and Spencer Whitcraft had a pair of hits and drove in four runs.

Cole Wilson fired a complete game to earn the win.

Collen Pulfer had two hits and three RBI in the loss.

In game two, the Tigers blanked the Raiders 12-0 in five innings.

Kyle Wilkins gave up just one hit in four innings for the win. Whitcraft closed out the game with a hitless fifth.

Burden was again a force at the plate for the Tigers, with two hits and runs and three RBI, while Jake Rutan scored twice and also drove in three runs.

The Bellefontaine Chieftains were shut out by Hamilton Badin 8-0.

Brandon Wilson collected two of the Chiefs three total hits.

Starter Jarrod Houchin suffered the loss.

The Chiefs are 10-5.

Riverside earned a split at the Houston Invitational.

The Pirates fell to Lehman 14-7.

Jake Herron suffered the loss.

Dustin Proffitt had three hits with a double and four RBIs, Dakota Bollinger tallied two hits, and Dallas Daniels and Conner Cotterman each drove in a run.

Riverside defeated Houston 7-3.

Freshman starter Landon Kelsey went four innings to earn the win.

Proffitt had two hits, two runs, and three steals, Dalton Bollinger belted a double and drove in two runs, Kelsey tallied two RBIs, Tanner Lane delivered two hits, and Dakota Bollinger had an RBI.

Riverside is 12-7.

Logan County Coach Pitch Pre-season Tournament

Lakeview #2 Spend-a-Day Marina rolled over Ridgemont #2 23-6, West Liberty #2 26-9; and lastly East Liberty #1 22-0.

In the final game, Ethan Elbert and Dylan Valerio each had home runs.

Zanesfield Easton Landscaping ran past Quincy 30-0 and beat Ridgemont 19-3.

The semifinals will be Tuesday night.

Pre-season TBall

WL#3 BOSS defeated Ridgemont #1 20-14.

BOSS was powered by Brevin Louden and Troy Bradley each with home runs. Isaiah Reminder added a triple and Reese Oder went 3-for-3.

WL#3 BOSS defeated Huntsville #1 19-14.

Hayden Sanford, Silas Kauffman, Taryn Bradley, Carissa Cozad, Brilee Joseph, and Jackson Steider each went 3-for-3.
