Updated: Chiefs, Lady Raiders fall; Pirates continue to roll – Thursday scorecard

Several area teams hit the diamond Thursday afternoon.

The Bellefontaine varsity baseball team fell to Northwestern 9-8 at Blue Jacket Park.

The Chiefs scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Drake Roebuck homered and tallied 2 RBIs and Matt Entsminger was the losing pitcher.

Entsminger and Tyler Shamblin each had three hits.

BHS has lost three straight to fall to 9-4 overall and 4-4 in the CBC.

Northwestern is 8-7, 3-4.

The Bellefontaine Red JV baseball team dominated Northwestern 19-2.

Xavier Brown doubled twice and totaled 7 RBIs, Daniel Boy and Lane Kiser each contributed 2 RBIs, and Joe Oliver picked up the win striking out 4.

The Riverside varsity baseball team defeated Lima Perry 13-1.

Dalton Bollinger recorded 5 RBIs, Drew Harford tallied 3 RBIs, and Dustin Proffitt scored 3 runs.

The Pirates improve to 11-6 overall and 5-0 in the league. They will play in the Houston Invitational at 11:15 Saturday.

The Benjamin Logan varsity baseball team outscored host Kenton Ridge 9-7.

Starter Kam Newland earned the win. He went six innings and gave up 7 runs on 13 hits.

Standout Zane Collins worked a scoreless seventh inning to post the save.

Sophomore Tyler Tevis was 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs, Tristin Harshfield recorded two hits with a triple and a stolen base, Collins and Brady Bechtel each had three hits with an RBI, and Collen Pulfer tallied two hits and two RBIs.

The Raiders are 10-6 overall and 4-5 in the league.

Tecumseh edged Indian Lake 4-3.

The Lakers are 7-8 overall and a league-best 6-3 in the CBC Mad River division.

Springfield Shawnee defeated Urbana 7-3.

Tipp City stifled Graham 7-1.

The Benjamin Logan varsity softball team lost to Kenton Ridge 2-0.

Courtney Stewart suffered the loss. She struck out 4.

The Raiders are 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the CBC.

The Cougars improve to 12-2, 6-1.

Jr. High Softball:

Indian Lake handled Wapakoneta 10-0 in five innings.

Kati Bowsher and Tatum Reprogle combined for the shutout.

The Lakers are 9-1.
