Updated: Tigers, Lady Raiders roll - Baseball and Softball Scoreboard

Several area teams opened the week on the diamond Monday.

West Liberty-Salem varsity baseball defeated host Mechanicsburg 11-1.

Max Bailey, Trent Thomas, Grant Burden, and Jake Rutan each contributed 2 RBIs.

Kyle Crawford was the winning pitcher with 6 strikeouts.

The West Liberty-Salem JV boys beat Mechanicsburg 12-2.

Dusty Moell earned the win from the mound and Austin Secor, Layne Bowman, and Bryce Jones each doubled.

Benjamin Logan varsity baseball fell to Greenon 7-4.

Brady Bechtel suffered the loss from the mound.

Kam Newland doubled, tallied 2 RBIs, and scored a run and Tanner Johnson and Todd Coleman each added a run.

Riverside varsity baseball topped Waynesfield-Goshen 11-1.

Dalton Bollinger homered and Jake Herron totaled 4 hits.

The varsity Pirates improve to 5-5 and 1-0 in league play.

The Bellefontaine JV Red team defeated Springfield Shawnee 8-0.

Lane Kiser fired a five-hitter with five Ks.

Kyle Brunner delivered a two-run single in the first inning.

Benjamin Logan varsity softball shut out Greenon 11-0.

Courtney Stewart homered and produced 2 RBIs, Kate Campbell doubled twice and tallied 2 RBIs, Melina Hilty contributed 2 RBIs, and Brooklyn Terrill doubled.

Stewart sat down 10 from the mound.

Indian Lake varsity softball fell at Urbana 9-5.

Kierstin Merritt suffered the loss in relief.

Claire Maier had a triple and Leslie Reichert drove in two runs.

The Riverside softball team blanked Waynesfield-Goshen 19-0 in five innings.

Christyn Wietholter fired a no-hitter with ten strikeouts.

Taylor Nichols had a home run, a double, and four RBIs. Wietholter and Jessica Davis each drove in two runs.

The Pirates are 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the league.

The West Liberty-Salem JV girls won 9-1.

Kylie Kite struck out 10 and allowed 5 hits.
