Jackson shines in Riverside Invitational

The Riverside boys and girls track teams opened their season Friday night in the school’s first annual Riverside Spectrackular Invitational. The meet featured the Pirates along with Triad, Calvary Christian, Jackson Center, Fairlawn, Lima Perry, Marion Catholic, and Lima Temple Christian.

The Riverside girls team won the meet with 90 points. They were led by top 5 finishes from:

Ella Jackson: 1st in the 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, and 3200 meter run

Brooke Hickey: 1st in the 300 meter hurdles, 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles, and 4th in the high jump

Kerri Meade: 1st in the 100 meter dash, 2nd in the high jump, 3rd in the 200 meter dash, and 4th in the discus

Emily Teague: 3rd in the 800 meter run and 4th in the 1600 meter run

The Riverside boys finished 5th overall. The team was led by top five finishes from:

Ryan Davidson: 3rd in the 100 meter dash and the 800 meter dash

Levi Stapleton: 3rd in the shot put

Jon Norris: 4th in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles

Chris Cox: 4th in the discus

Sean Perkins: 5th in the 200 meter dash

Ben Rappold: 5th in the 3200 meter run

Nicholas Smith: 5th in the shot put

Jesse Kean: 5th in the high jump

Fourth place in the 4x100 meter relay

Fourth place in the 4x400 meter relay

Riverside will host another meet Thursday night.
