Shawnee falls in district final, Delphos St. John's stifles St. Henry

Several high school boys basketball teams played district title games across the state Friday night.

Division II at UD Arena (pictured):

Defending state champ Dayton Dunbar knocked off Springfield Shawnee 67-54.

The Braves led 19-13 after one quarter.

The Wolverines responded and outscored Shawnee 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 34-28 halftime lead.

Dunbar increased its lead to 51-41 after three quarters.

The Braves finished the season 23-3, including an outright CBC Kenton Trail division title.

Senior Jailen Williams led Shawnee with 25 points and 9 rebounds.

Dunbar will play Cincinnati Hughes in a regional semifinal matchup Thursday at Kettering Fairmont.

Cincinnati Hughes outscored Trotwood-Madison 96-86.

Kettering Alter beat Wilmington 66-56.

Division IV at Elida:

Delphos St. John's knocked off St. Henry 63-46.

The Blue Jays will play Jackson Center in the regional Tuesday at Kettering Fairmont.
