Updated: Chiefs send out Seniors with a win; Raiders top Lakers - Saturday basketball scoreboard

The Lady Chieftains celebrated Senior Night with a win against visiting Stebbins 55-35.

Bellefontaine was paced by Junior Jazmyn Haley with 16 points and 8 rebounds, with Sophomore Brenda Johnson adding 13 points in the winning effort.

It was last home for seniors Sajah Carter, Aubrey Close, Julia Hunt, Regan Price and Whitney Rader, who have helped lead the Lady Chiefs to a 14-8 regular season record.

The Lady Chieftains will be in tournament action this Wednesday night at Tecumseh High School, where they will take on the Indian Lake Lakers at 6:00pm. You can hear the game broadcast live on 98.3 WPKO.

In the JV contest the Lady Chieftains fell to visiting Stebbins 28-25.

The JV Lady Chiefs were led by Liz Martin with 11 points.

In an all-Logan County contest, The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders used a strong second half to pull away from Indian Lake 37-16. The Raiders outscored the Lakers 25-8 over the final two stanzas.

Jessica Yoder topped the winners with 16 points and added 9 rebounds. Yoder topped the 1,000 point career mark in the game, becoming just the fourth person in Benjamin Logan history to achieve the milestone.

The Lady Raiders also knocked off the Lady Lakers in the JV contest, winning 28-20 behind 6 points each from Sarah Inglin and Holly Parker.

The West Liberty-Salem Lady Tigers were dropped by host Triad 47-39.

Maria Daulton and Melany Ward each scored 12 for the Tigers.

The Riverside varsity boys rallied past visiting Houston 48-47.

The Pirates outscored the Wildcats 18-9 in the fourth quarter.

Senior Grant Miller had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Classmate Luke Greene tallied 15 points and 2 steals.

The JV Pirates fell 46-43.

Ross Stevens poured in 21 and Jesse Kean added 10.

The Riverside Pirates 7th grade boys won the NWCC championship on Saturday by beating Upper Scioto Valley 45-32.

Caleb Stevens led the winners with 18 points and Trey Lane had 14 points as they finished with a 10-8 record.

Calvary Christian defeated the Ohio Eagles 46-38 to clinch their first regular season ICSO (Independent Christian Schools of Ohio) conference championship.

Leading the Spartans were Parker Grothaus with 27 points and 10 rebounds and Josh Kilgore with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

The win moves the Spartans record to 10-4 on the season.

The Calvary Christian JV team fell to the Ohio Eagles 45-24.

Leading the Spartans in scoring was Ben Tanner with 12 points and Alex McGillis with 8 points.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th Grade boys finished as runners-up in the OHC with a 39-33 loss to Greeneview, finishing the season 14-4.

Scoring for the Tigers were Jerret Smith with 10, Brandon Wolfe 7, and Luke Woods and Kannon Stillings added 6 each.

The Tiger 7th grade boys won the OHC Championship 46-28 over Miami View, finishing at 17-1 for the season.

James Loffing led the title run with 21 points, Cody King scored 12, and Braden Miller 6.

The 7th grade Ben Logan boys defeated Indian Lake in the first round of the CBC tournament 32-28.

Leading the Raiders in scoring was Jake Henman with 9 points. Daniel McPherson added 6 points and Hunter Niece and Grant Ward each had 5 points. The Raiders will be back in action on Monday evening at Shawnee at 5:30.
