Updated: Braves clip Chiefs; 'Climbers run past Lakers - Basketball scoreboard (Audio included)

Jailen Williams poured in 29 points to lead Springfield Shawnee past visiting Bellefontaine 54-47 in Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball action Friday.

The Chieftains (7-6 overall, 2-4 in the CBC) kept it close throughout most of the game, pulling to within one point of the Braves in the fourth quarter, but couldn't get over the hump and Williams' sparkling performance, eventually losing by seven. The Braves are now 11-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the CBC.

The game was heard on 1390 WBLL and Williams was named the Steve Austin's Auto Group Player of the Game.

Logan Mitchell led the Chieftain attack with a 16-point performance. Max Oyer added 13.

In other CBC action heard on 98.3 WPKO Friday, Urbana used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to break it open against visiting Indian Lake, winning the game 56-38.

Nathan Mays paced the Hillclimbers with 18 points and was named the Steve Austin's Auto Group Player of the Game. Jalon Tuttle netted 12 points in the loss, and Brennon Lump chipped in with 11 points for the Lakers.

The Hillclimbers are now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the CBC, while the Lakers fall to 2-9 on the season and 2-3 in the CBC.

Other finals:

West Liberty-Salem rolled at Southeastern 53-35.

Landon Hormann poured in 18, Travis Mayse tallied 16, and Grant Burden added 13.

The Tigers are 11-4 overall and 8-1 in the OHC.

The JV Tigers defeated the Trojans 36-29.

Ross Kelley fired in 10 points.

Riverside upset visiting Upper Scioto Valley 67-64.

Junior Dalton Bollinger led the way with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Kolt Shough recorded 14 points and 3 assists.

The Pirates have won four of their last five to improve to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in the NWCC.

The Rams are 9-3, 3-1.

The Riverside JV team fell to USV 48-28.

Jesse Kean had 15 points.

Riverside is hosting Fairlawn Saturday night.

Benjamin Logan lost at Greenon 71-70. The Knights hit a game-winning three-pointer with four seconds remaining.

Dalton Greene the Raiders with 20 points, Blaine Ricketts tossed in 17, and David Wenger added 10.

Benjamin Logan is 3-11 overall and 1-4 in the CBC. They will host Urbana Saturday night.

Tecumseh nipped Kenton Ridge 56-53.

Graham handled Northwestern 52-34. The Falcons are 7-5, 5-0.

Tipp City outscored Dayton Stebbins 64-45.

Cedarville edged Triad 35-34.

Greeneview defeated Mechanicsburg 61-57.

Springfield Catholic nipped Northeastern 52-51.

Fairbanks blitzed Ridgemont 77-41.

Waynesfield-Goshen defeated Marion Catholic 71-58.

Lima Perry outlasted Lima Temple Christian 58-51 in overtime.

Jackson Center defeated visiting Russia 59-48.

Ft. Loramie steamrolled Fairlawn 80-49.

Anna beat Houston 43-33.

Trotwood-Madison overwhelmed Sidney 103-69.

Lima Central Catholic crushed Ada 75-43.

Ottawa-Glandorf beat host Kenton 57-45.

Wapakoneta defeated Defiance 50-44.

Celina handled rival St. Marys 71-52.

Elida beat Lima Shawnee 63-49.

Ft. Recovery edged Versailles in overtime 61-60.

St. Henry stifled Marion Local 55-37.
