Little League:
Little League teams have been competing in the county postseason tournament this week in Zanesfield.
West Liberty #1 Thompson, Dunlap, and Heydinger defeated Bellefontaine #5 5-4 advancing to the winners’ bracket final.
James Loffing, Braden Miller, and Mat Prince shared the pitching duties.
West Liberty advanced by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Loffing started the inning with an inside-the-park home run. Miller doubled and scored the tying run on a Kody Thurman single. Thurman scored the winning run on a Prince single.
For Bellefontaine, Dezmin Lyburtus was outstanding on the mound striking out 11 and allowing just two hits.
Farm League:
Lee’s Roofing routed F.O.P. 13-3.
Nick Williams hit a triple and Cole Comstock went 2-for-3 with a triple.
Pony League:
Bellefontaine Lions Club handled West Liberty #1 16-4.
Cole Braun and Tyler Jones combined for 11 strikeouts.
Jones and Boris Pattison each had three hits. Ryan Sebring, Cole Braun, and Melech Hutchinson tallied two hits. Layne Williams smacked a double.
Jr. Acme:
Bellefontaine Merchants outplayed Troy 14-2.
Lane Kiser struck out six for the win.
Clay Russell powered Bellefontaine with a three-run home run and four RBI’s. Caleib Johnson and Jordan Baughman each had two hits with a double. Johnson drove in three runs.
Bellefontaine is 11-6 on the season.
