Lady Tigers, Lady Lakers advance to district final - Monday softball and baseball scoreboard

A couple of high school softball teams advanced in the Division III sectional tournament at Northmont Monday night.

West Liberty-Salem outscored Milton-Union 9-5.

The Tigers took control with a six-run first inning.

Kelsey Day earned the win.

Senior Dierdre McGill had 3 hits with a double and 3 RBIs.

Maddie Estes recorded 2 hits with a double and 2 RBIs.

Kenedie Cox added 2 hits.

The Tigers (20-2) will play Middletown Madison in the district final this weekend.

Indian Lake beat Arcanum 7-3.

Libby Cotterman belted a three-run homer in the 6th inning to seal the win.

The Lakers (14-7) will face Cincinnati Deer Park in the district final this weekend.

Youth finals:

In 11u softball, West Liberty #2 Masonic Lodge edged Zanesfield #1 11-10.

Dez Mitchell had the game-winning hit that drove in 2 runs.

Haylie Jordan was 2-for-2.

Olivia Reichardt and Tru Maxam shared time in the circle.

Farm League:

Bellefontaine #2 Dairy Queen beat Quincy 6-3.

Will Meyers and Grady Feasel each scored two runs.

Brody Impson and Zach Poll each scored a run.

West Liberty #2 Pet Clinic of Urbana outscored DeGraff 12-5.

Caleb Larson went 4 innings on the mound, allowing 1 run and striking out 10.

Braden Herschberger had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

Ian Cox recorded 2 RBIs.

West Liberty #2 improves to 1-2.

DeGraff falls to 2-1.

West Liberty #4 LeVan’s Excavating fell in extra innings to Zanesfield #2 11-6.

For West Liberty #4, Jacob Lauck was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Carson Vesey tallied 2 hits with a double.

Bayes Lapp belted a triple.

Starter Sutton Wilcoxon went 3 innings with 0 hits, 0 runs, and 8 Ks.

For Zanesfield #2, Landen Cooper had 2 hits with a triple and 2 RBIs.

Solomon Hughes tallied 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

Parker Yelton added a hit and 2 RBIs.

West Liberty #4 drops to 2-1.

Zanesfield #2 improves to 3-0.
