Tigers, Lakers run at Graham Invitational; Spartans set records at Newton - Friday track

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys track team competed at the Graham Invitational on Friday night.

WL-S was 10th out of 16 teams with 24 points.

Springfield Shawnee won the meet with 123 points.

WL-S was led by a 3rd place finish in the 3200 by Noah Smith. His time was 10:45.58. Smith was also 5th in the 1600 (5:00.09).

The WL-S 4x8 team was 4th (9:12.18) Isaac Smith, Noah Smith, Caleb Siegenthaler, and Gavin Harrison.

Hayden Kennedy was 6th in the 3200 (11:14.01).

WL-S will be back in action on Tuesday at an OHC North Meet at Mechanicsburg.

The Indian Lake varsity boys scored 18 points and placed 12th out of 16 teams at the Graham Invitational.

The Lakers were led by Tyree Whaley who finished 3rd place in discus (133'5") and 6th
place in shot put (40'4.5").

The 400 relay team of Gavin Dukowitz, Carter Burnside, Darrick Curtis, and Austin Beck placed 5th (45.79).

Austin Beck placed 7th in long jump (17'11").

Dolan Miller added a 7th place finish in the 400 meter run (55.01) and 8th place in long jump (17'8.25").

The Indian Lake varsity girls placed 13th out of 16 teams. West Liberty-Salem won the meet with 113 points.

For the Lakers, Hailee Reser placed 6th in shot put (29'2.75").

Hailey Even finished 7th in long jump (13'6.5").

Tiana Hughes placed 8th in discus (81'11").

The Riverside track and field team traveled to Newton for a six-team meet.

The teams were: Milton-Union, Newton, Calvary Christian, Middletown Christian, Troy Christian, and Riverside.

Both Pirates teams placed 4th.

The following Riverside athletes placed 8th or better in their respective events.

Girls 100m Hurdles: Meghan Orr 6th place

Boys 110m Hurdles: Ajay Stapleton 8th

Boys 100m Dash: Caleb Stevens 3rd, Kale Long 7th

Boys 4x200m Relay 2nd Place: Damian Slaven, Ajay Stapleton, Caleb Wright, Denver Jackson

Boys 1600m Run: Ethan Burrows 4th

Girls 4x100m Relay 3rd: Meghan Orr, Samantha Neely, Maddison Bowman, Morgan Fry

Boys 4x100m Relay 1st: Caleb Stevens, Kale Long, John Zumberger, Ollie Jacobs

Boys 400m Dash: Ollie Jacobs 2nd

Girls 300m Hurdles: Alli Knight 1st

Boys 300m Hurdles: Ajay Stapleton 7th

Girls 800m Run: Aradie Roth 3rd

Boys 800m Run: John Zumberger 5th

Girls 200m Dash: Alli Knight 5th

Boys 200m Dash: Caleb Stevens 1st, Ollie Jacobs 2nd

Boys 4x400m Relay 2nd: Caleb Stevens, Kale Long, John Zumberger, Ethan Burrow

Girls Discus: Megan Richardson 3rd, Maddison Bowman 7th

Boys Discus: Ethan Burrow 5th

Girls Long Jump: Mya Hurley 8th

Boys Long Jump: Ollie Jacobs 4th, John Zumberger 8th

Girls Shot Put: Megan Richardson 2nd, Aradie Roth 4th

Boys Shot Put: Kale Long 2nd, Damian Slaven 6th

Girls Pole Vault: Alli Knight 4th

Calvary Christian also competed at Newton.

The varsity boys team placed 3rd, while the girls were 5th.
