Updated: Lady Raiders spike Northwestern - volleyball finals

Local volleyball teams hit the court Tuesday evening.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team got a league win over Northwestern in straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-17.

The Raiders move to 3-1 in league play and 7-2 overall.

The Raiders were paced by a balanced attack. Stanleigh Archer and Sarah VanDyke recorded 12 kills apiece. VanDyke added 4 blocks. Molly Vance came up with 7 kills and Avery Braun tallied 4 kills. Megan Hughes dished out 32 assists and delivered 6 digs. Kinzie Jones recorded 13 digs.

The JV Raiders lost a 3-set battle to Northwestern with scores of 18-25, 25-23, and 20-25.

Kylie Frazier was 16/17 serving with 7 digs, 13 assists, and 4 kills. Sydney Kossel was 10/10 serving with 6 digs and 7 kills. Baylie LeVan recorded 13 digs, Hanna Logsdon came up with 7 digs, while Sammie Green had 2 solo blocks, 9/9 serving, and 9 kills. Savana Cronkleton added 7 kills.

The freshman Raiders beat Waynesfield-Goshen in straight sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-17.

Corinne Herring was 10/10 serving with 5 aces and dished out 9 assists. Alicia Jenkins was 9/9 serving with 2 aces and 4 kills. Kylie Honaker recorded 4 digs, Taylor Carnes added 3 aces, and 2 kills. Olivia Hall tallied 4 kills, Sidney Puckett added 3 kills and 3 aces, and Kaylee Nicholas added 1 kill and 2 digs.

The JV and varsity teams return to the court on Thursday. They will travel to Indian Lake for a league matchup. Game time is set for 5:30.

The Indian Lake varsity lost to Graham in 3 sets: 25-14, 25-8, and 25-7.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity team lost to Springfield Catholic Central in 3 sets: 25-21, 25-23, and 25-7.

For the Lady Tigers,

Kaylee Harrison: 10 kills, 11 digs, 2 blocks

Tory Cordell: 4 kills, 14 digs

Sydnee Payer: 2 kills

Alex Burton: 6 kills, 4 digs

Allie Yoder: 11 assists, 7 digs

Kaitlyn Chamberlain: 1 kill, 1 dig

Hallie Strapp: 24 digs, 2 kills

The Lady Tigers fall to 5-3 and 4-3 in OHC.

The JV Lady Tigers won in 2 sets: 25-20 and 25-22.

For the JV Lady Tigers,

Anna Kauffman: 5 digs

Kendall Metz: 8 digs

Jaelen Meeker: 13 assists, 6 digs, 3 aces

The Bellefontaine varsity girls lost to Springfield Shawnee in 4 sets: 11-25, 25-17, 9-25, and 14-25.

For the Lady Chiefs, Laney Yoder recorded 12 digs, a kill, 2 block assists, and 1 block solo; Hannah Rader tallied 8 digs, 4 kills, 2 block solos, 2 block assists, and an ace; Avery Moore had 3 digs and 2 kills, Madi Dailey contributed 8 digs and 7 assists; Anya Nunez produced 15 digs; Chalony Tolliver recorded 3 kills, a block solo, 3 block assists, and 3 digs; and Jade Schottelkotte added 4 digs and 2 kills.

The Bellefontaine JV lost in 2 sets: 25-12 and 25-21.
