Updated: Riverside routs Hardin Northern (Thursday ball scores)

In Thursday NWCC baseball action Riverside routed Hardin Northern 15-1.

Hunter Kreglow was the hitting star for the Pirates going 3-3 with a grand slam and 7 RBIs.

Hayden Robinson and Aaron Kean also hit doubles.

Tyler Sanford started and got the win on the mound.

The Pirates improve to 10-8 overall and 7-2 in the NWCC.

Bellefontaine shut out Greenon 5-0.

Senior Turner Scott twirled a two-hit gem for the Chiefs.

Isaac Newman was 2-3 at the plate.

The Chiefs improve to 3-4 in the CBC and 9-7.

West Liberty-Salem shut out host Jackson Center 6-0.

Ben Hyland threw a 1-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts.

Cayden Whitman was 2-4 with a double and 3 RBIs.

WL-S, now 8-6 overall (3-2 OHC), will play at Mechanicsburg on Monday in the completion of a suspended game due to weather.

In HS softball Thursday it was Benjamin Logan 15 Urbana 1.

The winning pitcher was Darian Rockhold.

Coach Amanda Davis said, "We put forth a tremendous hitting effort again. Many players contributed multiple base hits for us tonight and we were able to score many who were on base. Defensively we were sound as well, taking care of making the routine plays to support Darian on the mound."

Riverside traveled to Hardin Northern and came away with an 8-6 win.

Lauren Anderson went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Courtnie Smith went 2-4 with a double.

Pitchers Marissa Davis and Shelby Giles helped lead the Lady Pirates to victory.

Coach Andy Phelps said, “The girls battled again tonight. We got down twice in the game and found a way to come back and hold on for the victory. The defense today played very good behind our pitchers.”

Bellefontaine edged Greenon 6-4.

The Chiefs overcame a 3-0 deficit.

Maddie Neal earned the win.

Kayle Henderson had 3 hits with a double.

Hailee Price and Mallory Centers each added 2 hits.

The Chiefs are 1-6 in the CBC and 8-9.

Northwestern edged Kenton Ridge 5-4.

Waynesfield-Goshen outscored Lehman 23-10 in 5 innings.

Emily Walters led the offense with a 3-run homer, a grand slam, 2 walks, and 9 RBIs.

Cydney Roberts, Madison Crumrine, Madison Agnew, and Cecilla Werner added 2 hits apiece.

Cydney Roberts was the winning pitcher with 5 strikeouts and 0 walks.    

Here are Kingscreek Coach Pitch tournament results from Thursday:

WL 4, West Liberty Lions Club, defeated Kingscreek 12-10.

For WL Lions, Ayden Knox and Nicholas Kensler each tripled. Rylan Trimble, Jack Henry, and Carson Spencer added doubles.

WL 2, Plank's Pizza, fell 17-0 to North Lewisburg.

For Plank's, David Adams, Calen Craig, and Owen Thornburg all had base hits.

Friday night at 6 pm WL 1, Choice Properties, takes on Mechanicsburg 1 and WL 2, Plank's Pizza squares off against Kingscreek.

WL 3, Brecount Law Office, plays Saturday at 9 am against Mechanicsburg 2 and WL 4, WL Lions Club plays North Lewisburg at the same time.
