Updated: Bellefontaine doubles over Kenton - Saturday baseball, softball scoreboard

In varsity baseball from Saturday, Bellefontaine topped Kenton 11-1.

Dezmin Lyburtus was the winning pitcher.

In game 2, the Chieftains outhit Kenton 7-5.

Aaron Malarkey was 2-3 with 1 run. Cole Braun was 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI's.
Sammy Martz, Clay Wisner, Turner Scott, Dawson Miller, and Donovan Donovo each rounded the bases.

In the Micah Gregg Tournament, Benjamin Logan won over St Marys  9-8

Benjamin Logan routed Riverside 19-4.

The Raiders swung the hot bats on Saturday banging out 15 hits in each win.

Connor Caudill and Dalton Rockhold each clubbed homers for Ben Logan.

Riverside topped St. Mary's 15-9.

Tyler Sanford was the winning pitcher.

Zayne Hakes had a double and 2 RBI's.

Tyler Sanford had 4 RBI's and 3 runs. Caleb Stevens added 3 RBI's while scoring 4 runs.

Hunter Kreglow had a double, 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored, with 4 hits.

Indian Lake hit past Coldwater 7-4.

Tyler Reprogle had 3 hits while Alex Jacobs added 2 for the Lakers.

Pitcher Dylan Albright got the win.

West Liberty-Salem entertained Graham in a twin-bill and won both games.

Tigers starter Cayden Whitman went the distance and earned his first win of the season recording 5 strikeouts, 2 walks and scattering 2 hits over 5 innings in an 11-1 victory.

Thomas Allen was 2-4 with a double. Levi Moell went 2-3 with a triple and 3 RBI's.

Trevor Burden was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with 3 RBI's.

Chase Humphrey was 2-3 with a double and RBI.

Strong pitching kept game 2 close as the Tigers held on in seven 1-0.

Starting and freshman pitcher Trevor Woodruff earned his first varsity win.

Tyler Louden came on in the 7th with runners at 1st and 3rd with 1 out and slammed the door by striking out the final 2 Falcons earning a save.

Thomas Allen went 2-3 with a double.

The Tigers are now 6-5 on the season and 2-1 in the OHC. They play OHC rival Southeastern at home on Monday.

In varsity softball, Bellefontaine took home 2 wins against Kenton, bringing their total record to 6-7.

In game 1, the Chieftains won 6-2.

Shelby Raney went 3-3 with a triple. Hailee Price, Emily Mitchell, Caitlyn Shumaker, and Hannah Hall each went 2-3. Hall added a double.

In the second game, Bellefontaine had the narrow win 8-7.

Kayle Henderson was 3-4 with two triples.

Caitlyn Shumaker was also 3-4 while Emily Mitchell tallied an inside the park home run.

West Liberty-Salem lost to Graham 2-1.

Madison Bryant was the winning pitcher for Graham.

Kenedie Cox went 2-4 fpr the Tigers.

Kelsey Day was 1-2.

Riverside hosted a “Swing for the Cure” event on Saturday with Indian Lake and Mechanicsburg.

Game 1 saw Indian Lake edge Riverside, 4-2.

Marissa Davis was 2-3 with a home run and 2 RBI's.

Shelby Giles suffered the loss.

Indian Lake defeated Mechanicsburg 5-3 in 8 innings in game 2.

In game 3, Riverside bounced back to defeat Mechanicsburg 7-2.

Helena Faulder went 3-4 with 2 RBI's, Kristin Davidson went 2-3 and Aubrie Stillings went 2-4.
The Pirates are back in action on Monday at USV.

The Riverside JV team fell to Indian Lake in a double header, 17-4 and 22-1.

Benjamin Logan swept Marion Pleasant in two 8-1 and 10-6.

Grace Deardurff was the winning pitcher in game 1 while Darian Rockhold got the W in game 2.

The Bellefontaine Chieftains 14u baseball team placed 2nd at the Full-Tilt one day tournament in Kenton on Saturday.

They made their way through the winners bracket by defeating the Findlay Diamond Devils 10-1 and Full Tilt Baseball 5-4 in the semifinals before losing 9-1 to the Fort Wayne, Indiana Legends in the championship.

Triston Hazel, Robby Wildermuth, Ethan Ricketts and Jarrid Baughman all contributed in the wins for the Chiefs.
