Dixon leads Lakers at Troy – weekend wrestling roundup

Connor DixonIndian Lake High School wrestled at the Troy Invitational on Saturday.

The Lakers had five wrestlers make it to the finals.

Connor Dixon brought home the championship at 160.

Chance Daisy (145), Dylan Knotts (152), and Cole Mefford (195) each finished runner-up.

Hunter Wolf placed 6th.

The Lakers will be back in action at the Maumee Bay Classic on Friday and Saturday.

Indian Lake Middle School competed at the Marysville Invitational on Saturday.

The Lakers had four wrestlers advance to the finals.

Lane Mefford won the title at 134.

Nate Cummins (86) brought home a second-place medal.

ILMS placersHayden Pummel (142) finished third.

Derek Cline (150) and Dalton Longwell (245) placed fourth.

West Liberty-Salem wrestled at the Triad Middle School Invitational on Saturday.

Ian Maurice (122) was third with a record of 4-1. He recorded two pins to improve to 8-2.

Monty Leach (150) had a pin.

Bellefontaine Middle School competed at the Triad Invitational.

Tucker Newland (122) was runner-up. He went 4-1.

Chelsea Horsley (86) placed third.

Kaden Titus (142) finished fifth with a 4-1 record.

Bowdy Harrod (104) was sixth.

Skyler Kennedy (110), Gabe Selano (116), Justin Kerns (128), Trent Kelly (134), and Griffen Frisby (172) won matches.

Makayla Young (92) also wrestled well.

The Chiefs will wrestle at the Benjamin Logan Middle School tournament on Friday.
