Lady Chiefs top Indian Lake - Thursday basketball finals (Audio & video included)

The Bellefontaine varsity girls basketball team traveled to county rival Indian Lake Thursday night.
The Lady Chiefs came away with a tough 40-31 victory.
Indian Lake led after the 1st quarter, 8-5.
Bellefontaine jumped ahead in the 2nd quarter to lead 18-15 at the half.
After 3 quarters of play, Bellefontaine led 26-23.
In the 4th quarter, Bellefontaine got some distance for the win.
For Bellefontaine, Aubrey Stolly recorded 16 points and Emily Mitchell contributed 12.
For Indian Lake, Morgan Evilsizor tallied 14 points and Kristen Young added 10 points.
Bellefontaine Coach Henry Stolly credited free-throw shooting down the stretch and clock management as his team's keys to victory.
Both coaches felt that their teams played hard and continued to grow as young squads.

Bellefontaine improves to 6-5 and 4-1 in the CBC and will host Tecumseh Saturday.
Indian Lake falls to 2-9 and 0-6 in league play and travels to Northwestern Saturday.
In HS girls basketball Thursday Lehman won at Riverside 43-29.
Dana Jones scored 9 points for the Lady Pirates while Marissa Davis added 8 points.
Riverside is 1-9.
It was West Liberty-Salem over Madison Plains 52-17.
For the Lady Tigers, Lily Yoder had 14 points while Kelsey Day was also in double figures with 10.
WL-S is now 10-1 overall and 5-0 in the OHC.
In the JV game it was WL-S 33 Madison Plains 9.
Camrin Rice had 11 points.
The WL-S 7th grade girls basketball team had a great defensive effort in a 55-8 win over Indian Lake.
On offense, the Lady Tigers had a balanced attack of Emily Hollar with 12 points and 4 assists, Megan Adams with 10 points, Hallie Smith scored 8 points with 5 rebounds, Grace Winters had 8 points, 4 steals and 3 assists, and Aubrey Williams added 7 points and 7 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers are 6-0 on the season.
The WL-S 8th grade girls basketball team remains undefeated with a 34-10 win over Madison Plains.
Selena Weaver led the way with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Gracie Estes chipped in 9 points.
Both teams return to action at Anna on Saturday at 9:00.
The Bellefontaine 8th grade girls fell to Wapakoneta 50-23.
Kailynn Kenner had 7 points.
Rylie Fullerton and Caitlin Hutchins each added 6 points.
The Chiefs (5-4) will host Graham on Monday.
The 7th grade Lady Chiefs lost to Wapakoneta 25-12.
Carmen Shumaker had 6 points.
Emma Middaugh, Gabby Williams, and Katie Pool each scored 2 points.
The Bellefontaine 7th grade boys team lost a hard fought battle with Wapakoneta 28-24.
Drey Carter led all scorers with 18 points.
Evan Baker had 4 steals.
The Bellefontaine 8th grade boys fell to Wapakoneta 53-18.
Kameron Smith had 5 points.
Robby Wildermuth grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Chiefs will play at Graham on Monday.
The Benjamin Logan 8th grade boys lost at Springfield Shawnee 49-35.
The Raiders were paced by Nolan Roose with 11 points while Tanner Perkins had 9 points and 6 rebounds.
The Raiders are back in action on Monday versus Indian Lake.
The Benjamin Logan 7th grade boys basketball team lost to Springfield Shawnee.
Kaden Arn led all scorers with 10 points.
The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade boys basketball team improved to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the OHC with a 36-33 overtime win against Madison Plains.
The Tigers were led by Issac Brown with 11 points.
Landon Stewart added 8.
The WL-S 8th grade boys outscored Madison Plains 60-47.
Nick Burden led the Tigers with 26 points, Lance Baldwin had 13, and Jace Wade also was in double figures with 12 points.
