Updated: Riverside tops Temple Christian – Thursday volleyball finals

Area volleyball teams were in action Thursday.

The Riverside varsity team defeated Lima Temple Christian in 4 sets: 26-24, 21-25, 25-15, and 25-21.

Sam Egbert tallied 17 assists and 12 digs. Brooke Hickey contributed 11 assists and 6 kills. Marissa Davis recorded 10 kills and 15 digs. Kerri Meade produced 9 kills and 3 blocks. Aubrey Stephens had 7 kills. Lauryn Davis added 2 blocks.

The Riverside JV topped Lima Temple Christian in 2 sets: 25-21 and 25-18.

Helena Faulder totaled 4 aces and 9 assists. Lauren Anderson recorded 3 aces and 5 digs. Kristin Davidson added 8 kills.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity team lost to Springfield Catholic in 3 sets: 8-25, 17-25, and 19-25.

Jamie Peterson recorded 15 kills, Kylee Hormann tallied 7 kills, and Rachel Ritter added 11 digs.

The Lady Tigers fall to 3-3.

The West Liberty- Salem JV fell to Springfield Catholic in 2 sets: 17-25 and 8-25.

The JV Lady Tigers are 0-6 on the season.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team lost a three-set match to Northwestern: 21-25, 21-25, and 14-25.

Katie Bisel recorded 9 kills and 5 blocks. Darien King added 7 kills.

The Lady Raiders fall to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in league play.

The JV Raiders beat Northwestern in 2 sets.

Madison Jones had 9 digs and 9 assists and Natalie Drumm added 7 digs. Allie Wilson dished out 12 assists.

The JV and varsity Raiders return to the court on Tuesday at Lima Central Catholic. The freshman game starts at 4:30.

The Bellefontaine varsity team fell to visiting Kenton Ridge 11-25, 19-25, and 13-25.

Kenzie Brunswick had 13 kills and 13 digs.

Savannah Bryson delivered 15 assists.

Haylee Pequignot recorded 14 digs.

Michaela Baker and Amanda Case were each 12-for-12 serving.

The JV Chiefs lost 17-25, 8-25.

The freshman Chiefs were swept 10-25, 18-25.

Madison Aldo had 7 digs and 3 kills.

Lindsey Stevenson tallied 6 digs.

Madisyn Neal added 4 digs.

The freshman team will play a tri-match at Benjamin Logan Saturday.

Bellefontaine will host Indian Lake in a Volley for a Cure match Tuesday.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade won in 2 sets over South Vienna: 25-11 and 25-15.

Kelsey Day totaled 12 points, Arrah Sandy contributed 11 points, Hallie Strapp had 5 points, and Breann Koons delivered 5 assists.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade won in 2 sets against South Vienna: 25-22 and 25-11.

Alex Burton recorded 11 points with 8 aces, Kennah Erwin had 8 points with 6 aces, and Sydnee Payer added 3 points and 2 kills.
