Updated: Bellefontaine spikes Stebbins, Lady Tigers roll - Tuesday volleyball finals

Local volleyball teams were in action Tuesday.

The Bellefontaine varsity team beat Dayton Stebbins in 3 sets: 25-14, 25-7, and 25-20.

Mackenzie Brunswick totaled 16 kills, 7 digs, was 11 for 12 serving with 5 aces and 5 blocks. Michaela Baker was 18 for 18 serving with 3 aces. Haylee Pequignot was 15 for 16 serving with 9 digs. Amanda Case had 5 kills, and was 11 for 11 serving. Savannah Bryson was 11 for 12 serving with 23 assists.

The JV Lady Chiefs won in 2 sets: 25-7 and 25-12.

Violet Martin was 11 for 12 serving with 3 aces and 5 kills. Taylor Hodge led the team with assists.

The Bellefontaine freshman lost to visiting St. Marys in 2 sets: 17-25 and 23-25.

Bellefontaine hosts Kenton Ridge Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls beat Northeastern in 4 sets: 25-13, 12-25, 25-22, and 25-16.

Jamie Peterson recorded 19 kills, 4 aces, and 21 digs. Kylee Hormann had 6 kills and 3 blocks. Rachel Ritter added 20 serve receptions and 14 digs.

The JV Lady Tigers lost to Northeastern in 3 sets: 17-25, 25-13, and 25-19.

Kelby Strapp had 11 total serves and 2 aces. Allie Yoder had 7 total serves and 3 aces.

The Benjamin Logan varsity team pulled out a five-set victory over visiting Indian Lake.

The scores were 25-27, 25-11, 19-25, 25-23, and 15-6.

The Raiders were led by Katie Bisel and Coreen Crosby who had 18 and 12 kills, respectively.  Tayler Rose and Betsy King combined for 52 assists. Bri Frazier added 7 kills and 2 blocks.  Darien King served 15 points and added 3 blocks.

Benjamin Logan is 4-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.

The JV Raiders got a 3-set victory over Indian Lake.

The Raiders were paced by McKinzie Jones's 7 kills and 6 digs. Natalie Drumm had 8 digs and 3 kills. Setters Allie Wilson and Madison Jones combined for 23 assists.

The freshman Raiders fell to West Jefferson in the opening game of the evening.

Jenna Ammons had 3 kills and 5 points while Avery Braun added 8 points.

The JV and varsity Raiders are back in action on Thursday at Northwestern for their second CBC match of the season.

The Riverside varsity team won over Bradford in 3 sets: 25-12, 25-12, and 25-19.

Kerri Meade totaled 12 kills, Brooke Hickey delivered 10 assists, Marissa Davis tallied 11 kills and 5 digs, Lauryn Davis recorded 4 digs, and Aubrey Stephens added 3 aces.

The JV Lady Pirates defeated Bradford in 2 sets: 25-17 and 25-14.

Payton Manahan and Kristin Davidson each tallied 10 points.
