Benjamin Logan sophomore Coreen Crosby competed in the Ohio Combined Events Championships Friday and Saturday at Thomas Worthington High School in the girls' heptathlon.
Crosby won the 15-16 age group and qualified for the USATF regional meet in Charleston, West Virginia.
Heptathletes compete in seven events over the course of two days where individual results are then given pre-determined point totals and totaled for final scoring.
On Friday, Coreen competed in the 100m Hurdles (18.22), Shot Put (25' 8.25"), High Jump (4' 7"), and the 200m Dash (29.50) On Saturday, Coreen Long Jumped 13' 1.5", threw the Javelin 83' 10", and ran the 800m in 2:48.78 for a combined total of 3,019 points.
In her age division, Coreen individually won five of the seven events (all but Shot Put and Long Jump) and scored more than the 17-18 girls' division.
Benjamin Logan second-grader Eric Hughes also competed in the Worthington Track and Field Classic on Saturday where he finished third in the 8U Shot Put, 5th in the 8U long jump, and 6th in the 8U 400m Dash.
