Jazmyn Haley dropped in 28 points and doled out 12 assists in leading the Bellefontaine Lady Chieftains past host Dayton Stebbins 43-40 in a Central Buckeye Conference match-up Saturday.
Down by four headed into the fourth quarter, the Chiefs outscored the Indians, 19-12, in the final period to seal the win.
Haley went 13-for-18 from the foul line while teammate Kenzie Brunswick added nine points and six assists for the Chieftains.
Bellefontaine is now 5-7 on the year and will travel to Marysville Wednesday to take on the Monarchs in a non-league contest.
In another CBC matchup Saturday, Indian Lake knocked off Benjamin Logan 50-43. Sammi Miller paced the Lakers with 13 points, while Haley Boberg threw in three 3-pointers and ended the game with 11 points.
Taylor Coy had 11 points for the Raiders.
Triad was also a winner Saturday, overcoming a 29-point performance by the Lady Tigers' sophomore Jamie Peterson to win the Ohio Heritage Conference matchup, 51-48.
The Tigers went just 4-of-13 from the charity stripe in the game.
The Cardinals were led by Nicole Simonelli’s 19 points.
Triad hit six 3-pointers in the contest.
The West Liberty-Salem eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Anna 30-20. All seven of the Tiger girls scored in the game. WL-S is now 8-0 on the year.
In the seventh grade game, the Rockets beat the Tigers 32-11.
The WL-S boys eighth and seventh graders also battled Anna on Saturday. The Tigers dropped both contests, 46-43 in the eighth-grade game, and 38-29 in the seventh-grade matchup.
James Loffing had 12 points for the Tigers eighth-graders, while Desmond Glunt had 13 for the WL-S seventh graders.
The Riverside 8th grade girls lost to Fairlawn 45-27.
Payton Manahan led the Pirates with 14 points.
The Riverside 7th grade girls ran past Fairlawn 30-14.
Shelby Giles poured in 16 points.
