Several area runners braved the cold temperatures to kick off the new year by competing in the 4th annual Liberty Half Marathon Wednesday morning.
The 13.1 mile race started at Marie’s Candies in West Liberty and ended near Reliant Mechanical in East Liberty.
Terry Stolly was the overall winner, setting a new course record in 1:24.30.
Earl Zilles came in second place with a time of 1:29.26.
Christine Ochs-Naderer, an alumni of West Liberty-Salem, was the women’s overall winner coming in at 1:45.05.
