Updated: Lady Pirates finish strong in holiday tournament – Basketball scoreboard

Several local basketball teams recently took to the court.

In girls basketball, Riverside took on Springfield in the consolation game of the Bradford Holiday Tournament, winning 45-41.

Brooke Hickey made 16 points and Molly Harshbarger chipped in 8.

Riverside’s Monica Hurley was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The JV Team lost to Springfield 36-19.

The West Liberty Salem Varsity team demolished Springfield Catholic 54-19.

Playing well for the Lady Tigers included Madison Oelker with 10 points and Jamie Peterson added 7.

The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders topped Greenon 46-41.

Taylor Quay led the scoring for the Raiders with 11. Jessica Sosby and Holly Parker each followed with 10. Parker also contributed 7 rebounds.

Taylor Burson led Greenon with 14 points.

In JV action, Benjamin Logan routed Greenon 37-15.

Darrien Rockhold put 16 points on the board for the Raiders.

The Lady Raiders travel to Mechanicsburg Monday. The JV game starts at 6 p.m.

Triad’s varsity team defeated Mechanicsburg 58-53.

Nicole Simonelli put in 18 points while Jenna Ober added 15.

Jamie Dodane and Libby Huffman each had 13 for Mechaniscburg,

Triad fell in the JV game 35-32.

Maddy McCreary made 11 points, trailed by Sammie Fink with 10 for the Cardinals.

Miranda Lauchard made 11 points for Mechanicsburg.

In high school boys’ basketball, the Benjamin Logan varsity team fell to Upper Scioto Valley 68-36.

Grant Ricketts led the Raiders with 11 points, hitting 3 three-pointers along the way. Tanner Rader added 9.

The JV boys also lost to Upper Scioto Valley, 36-27.

Joel Dixon had 12 points for Benjamin Logan.

The Indian Lake varsity team had a narrow loss to St. Marys 56-35.

It was a four-point game with five minutes left on the clock.

Brennon Lump made 12 points for the Lakers.

The team is now 3-5 on the season.

The Indian Lake freshman team took out West Liberty-Salem 69-34.

Nate Kaffenbarger put 16 points on the board for the Lakers. Parker Grothaus followed closely with 15.

Alex Jacobs added 16 rebounds.

Brandon Wolfe led the Tigers with 15 points.

The Indian Lake freshman boys are now 6-0 on the season.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity team fell to Miami East in the Versailles tournament 58-47.

Brandon Adams put up 16 points for the Tigers. Trent Thomas made 11.

The West Liberty-Salem boys are now 3-5 on the season.

Bellefontaine freshman boys topped Northeastern 38-25.

Turner Scott put up eight points.
