Updated: Chiefs rally past Sidney for fifth straight win - Basketball finals (Audio included)

As featured on 1390 WBLL, the Bellefontaine varsity boys rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to beat host Sidney 65-47.

The Chiefs trailed 25-21 at the half, then outscored the Yellow Jackets 44-22 in the final two quarters.

Senior guard A. J. Gorham was named the Steve Austin's Auto Group Player of Game. He poured in a game-high 26 points and collected five steals.

Daniel Boy and Tristin Tillman each chipped in 12.

The Chiefs sealed the win by going 13-for-13 from the foul line in the final quarter.

For Sidney, Lorenzo Taborn tossed in 19 points.

The Yellow Jackets are 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the GWOC. They will host Tecumseh Saturday night.

BHS moves to 5-1. The Chiefs will travel to Springfield Shawnee Monday night for a makeup game.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys fell at Versailles 78-47.

The hosts led 36-25 at the half, then put the game away by outscoring WLS 27-10 in the third quarter.

Connor Woods led WLS with 22 points.

All-Ohio guard Kyle Ahrens paced the winners with 32.

WLS is 3-4.

The Benjamin Logan varsity boys lost to visiting Kenton 72-65.

The Wildcats outscored the Raiders 23-13 in the fourth quarter.

Grant Ricketts led Benjamin Logan with 19 points.

Thorne Stephens dropped in 16 and Tanner Rader and Austin Ahle each added 11.

For Kenton, Grant Sherman scored 15.

Matt Bahr, Justin Sawmiller, and Colyn Blackford each added 12.

The JV Raiders lost to Kenton 41-40.

The Lakers (3-4) will travel to St. Marys on Saturday.

The Riverside varsity boys lost to host Bradford 46-43 in the opening round of the holiday tournament.

The Pirates led 26-16 at the half.

Dalton Bollinger and Landon Kelsey each finished with 11 points.

Riverside (2-6) will face New Miami in the consolation game at Bradford Saturday at five p.m.

The Mechanicsburg varsity boys edged host Triad 74-73 in overtime.

The Jackson Center varsity boys won at rival Ft. Loramie 46-33.

Gavin Wildermuth led the way with 14 points. Drew Sosby added 11.

The Tigers are 5-2; the Redskins are 4-3.

The Riverside varsity girls fell at Bradford 56-34.

Brooke Hickey had 13 points, Monica Hurley scored 10, Emily Teague had 5, and Molly Harshbarger added 4.
