Updated: Lady Chiefs, Tigers lose tough games (Audio & video included)

Area basketball teams hit the court Monday night.

The Bellefontaine varsity girls lost to Anna 62-53.

The Lady Chiefs were led by Kameren Haley with 18 points, Jazmyn Haley tallied 17, and Kenzie Brunswick added 9.

For Anna, Avery Bensman totaled 26 points and Cayla Bensman contributed 10.

The Lady Chiefs trailed 11-9 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Anna would outscore Bellefontaine 19-6 in the 2nd quarter to led 30-15 at the half.

The Lady Chiefs trailed 44-28 at the end of three but would outscore the Lady Rockets 25-18 in the 4th quarter.

Bellefontaine senior Kameren Haley would leave the game due to an injury with 12.7 seconds remaining in the game.

The Lady Chiefs fall to 4-6 and host Kenton Saturday.

The Bellefontaine JV girls lost to Anna 28-22.

Ashley Artis scored 9 for Bellefontaine.

Elizabeth Landis tallied 10 for the JV Lady Rockets.

The West Liberty-Salem JV girls beat visiting Greenon 38-17.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys lost to Kenton Ridge 50-46.

Brandon Adams scored 8 and Cole Wilson, Connor Woods, and Jaiden Merrick each added 7.

The varsity Tigers fall to 3-3.

The West Liberty-Salem JV boys fell to Kenton Ridge 45-32.

Ben Bowden recorded 11 points.

The West Liberty-Salem freshman boys lost to Kenton Ridge 34-30.

Brandon Wolfe tallied 10 points.
