Updated: Chiefs tame Red Devils - Basketball scoreboard

Bellefontaine withstood a third-quarter rally by host Tipp City Friday to hand the Red Devils their first lost of the year, 47-34, in a Central Buckeye Conference boys basketball contest.

The game was broadcast live on 1390 WBLL.

The Chieftains allowed the Devils to score only one point in the second quarter and took a 19-8 lead into the locker room, but Tipp pulled to within six, 27-21, to get within striking distance going into the final period.

But excellent defensive rebounding and taking advantage of the double bonus from the charity stripe helped the Chiefs pull away, icing the game from the line late in the fourth quarter.

Chieftain Tristin Tillman was named the Steve Austin’s Player of the Game, leading Bellefontaine with 12 points, including hitting all six of his free throws, including several late in game.

Bellefontaine will play again Friday, December 27th at Sidney. Tip-off for the varsity game is scheduled for 7:30 pm on WBLL.
