Samuel J. Bevington, 61, of Russells Point, passed away Wednesday evening, March 27, 2013 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 8, 1952 in Kenton, OH to the late Franklin & Margaret Potter Bevington. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Bevington and Helen Dickinson.
On November 14, 1987, Samuel married the former Patricia Nichols in West Mansfield and she survives. He is also survived by six children, Deborah (Clay) Barger of West Liberty, Becky Bevington of Bellefontaine, Angie (Gary) Stiner of Portsmith, OH, Scott (Julie) McMillen of Sidney, Shelly (Scott Price) McMillen and Stacy (Zack Peters) McMillen, both of Lakeview, 25 grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Peggy (David) Frazier of West Mansfield, Phyllis (Fred) Yoder and Margaret (Mike) Brunke, both of Bellefontaine, one brother, Robert Bevington of Bellefontaine, an uncle, Lester (Carol) Potter of Bellefontaine, and several nieces and nephews.
Samuel attended West Liberty-Salem High School. He was retired from the Village of Russells Point, where he had worked in the Water Department for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes. He loved being with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm., Monday, April 1, 2013 with visitation from 11-1 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
