George Edward Wolf, 84, of Belle Center, passed away Friday morning, March 22, 2013 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born in Lima, Ohio, on December 14, 1928 to the late George W. and Anna (Eggleston) Wolf. He was also preceded in death by sisters Eileen Harvey and Viola Ferenczi and two grandchildren.
George married the former Joella Williams on June 20, 1955 in Angola, Indiana, and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by his children Joel (Cathy) Wolf of Marysville, D’Anne (Chris) Conley of Belle Center, George L. (Sue) Wolf of Van Wert, Eric (Anne) Wolf of Durham, NC, Mark (Beverly) Wolf of West Mansfield and Karl (Linda) Wolf of Wapakoneta; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother James (Ardith) Wolf of Lima; brother-in-law Steven Ferenczi of Lima; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George worked for Conrail as a conductor for 37 years and retired in 1991. He was a veteran of the US Army & Navy. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica and traveling. George had a great sense of humor and loved his family. He was a member of Belle Center United Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 4-8 pm. Rev. Jim Burton will officiate a funeral service on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center with military honor conducted by the Logan County Veterans Detail.
