Virginia M. Griffith, 92, formerly of Lakeview, passed away at Logan Acres on Monday, January 14, 2013.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 4, 1920 to the late William and Della (Bergener) Klee.
On September 17, 1941 she married Robert A. Griffith, Sr. in Wellsburg, WV and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Klee, Jr. of Saxonburg, PA, and a sister, Marjorie Carpenter of Harmons, MD.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Robert A. (Louise) Griffith, Jr. of Bakersfield, CA and Scott Griffith of Tampa, FL; a daughter, Lynn (Ron) Blubaugh of Russells Point; 6 grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Griffith of Glen Burnie, MD, Sue (Jeff) Bridges of Dundalk, MD, Cathy Griffith of Glen Burnie, MD, Aaron (Stephanie) Griffith of Glen Burnie, MD, Ronald Blubaugh Jr. of Spencerville, OH, and Jason (Michelle) Blubaugh of Aurora, CO; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Bruce (Joan) Carpenter of Dayton, MD.
Virginia was a 1938 graduate of Penn High School, Verona, PA and worked for 26 years at Hochschild Kohn Department Store in Baltimore and Glen Burnie, Maryland. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and their United Methodist Women’s group. Virginia loved her family, her church and her favorite activity – BINGO.
The family would like to give special thanks to Logan Acres Care Center, where Virginia received excellent care with compassion, love and respect.
Memorial services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 110 Brown St., Lakeview on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11am, with Pastor Rob Kilgore officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Logan Acres Care Center or Wilson Memorial Hospice.
The Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview assisted the family with services.
