Myrtle M. Dodds

Myrtle M. Dodds, 97, formerly of Lakeview, Ohio passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine, OH.

She was born on May 22, 1915 in Richland Twp, Logan Co, Ohio to the late Edward A. & Mollie Ann McGre Tracey. On October 27, 1934, she married John O. Dodds in Kenton, OH and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Philip Dodds and 10 siblings.

She is survived by eight children, John (Jo) Dodds of St. Marys, OH, Denzil (Kay) Dodds of Houston, TX, Myron (Joan) Dodds of Lima, OH, Michael (Carlotta) Dodds of Sidney, OH, Patrick (Sharon) Dodds of Bellefontaine, David (Deanna) Dodds of Jackson Center, OH, Aaron (Deanece) Dodds of Lakeview, and Molly Shroyer of Wapakoneta, OH, 35 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Myrtle was a 1934 graduate of Roundhead School. She was a member of Quest Community Church of the Nazarene in West Liberty, OH. She was also a former member of the Jackson Center Church of the Nazarene and Indian Lake Northside Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading scripture, was a prayer warrior and devoted member to her church. She was a kind and selfless person who always cared and looked out for the well being of others. She was the kind of person that made those that spoke to her feel special because of her intent and interest she showed to them. She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren.

Reverend John E. Dodds will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene District Center, St. Marys, OH.

Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Condolences may be expressed at www.shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
