Raymond L. Bell, Jr.

Raymond L. Bell, Jr., 70, of Huntsville, passed away, Thursday morning, December 6, 2012 at the Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Room, Bellefontaine, OH.

He was born on June 16, 1942 in Bellefontaine to the late Raymond E. Sr. & Mary Irene Fout Bell.

On April 9, 1961, he married the former Janet Brenner in Johnstown, PA, and she survives. He is also survived by two children, J.R. (Terri) Bell of Huntsville, and Christine L. (Roger) Headings of Bellefontaine, five grandchildren, Kevin (Sara Ann) Bell, Sarah Ann Bell, Melissa Sue Bell, Jason Headings, and Jessica (Christopher) Anders, a great grandson, Cayden Christopher Bell, two sisters, Barbara Lynn (John) Cummins and Beverly Anne (Bob) Minnich, both of Huntsville, a brother, Charles Michael (Karen) Bell of Bellefontaine, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a 1960 graduate of Washington Local Schools. A self-employed contractor, he enjoyed building things, woodworking, and antique furniture restoration. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Whitetails Unlimited. An outdoor enthusiast, he was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He also enjoyed making wine and was an OSU Buckeyes fan. A comedian at heart, he loved telling jokes and did not know a stranger. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

Reverend Bryan Meadows will conduct funeral services beginning 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, OH. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9th from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.

Memorial contribution may be given to Friends Serving Friends of Indian Lake, PO Box 917, Russells Point, OH 43348.
