Philip E. Hale

Philip E. Hale, 86, of West Liberty, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at OSU East Medical Center.

He was born April 21, 1931 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late John A. and Sarah A. (Hooley) Hale.

Mr. Hale was a retired Teamster of 31 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving family include his wife of 65 years, Eileen; daughters Patricia E. Whilding, Cynthia A. Hale; sons Stephen T. Hale, Joseph D. (Lisa A.) Hale, James E. (Lisa I.) Hale; sister Patricia M. O'Connor; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law Jon & Regina Hale, grandson Justin Hale McKeehen, and sister Phyllis Lipoma.

Special thank you to Nancy and Scott Stewart for all their love and support. Thank you to the staff at Green Hills for their compassionate care.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and his memory will be cherished forever and ever.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 3 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 328 East Patterson Avenue with Fr. Shawn Landenwitch officiating. Private burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Jennings Farley Funeral Home & Crematory, West Liberty.
