Karen L. Gearheart, 58, of Lakeview, OH passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2017 at her home.
Karen was born on September 24, 1958 in Savannah, GA, a daughter of the late Carl (Katherine) Prewitt and Ann (John) Williams Barnett, who survive in Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Rush.
Karen married Jim Gearheart on August 2, 1980 in Phoenix and he survives along with three children, Christi (Karl) Thorpe of Phoenix, James (Sandi) Gearheart of Urbana, OH, and Shane Gearheart of Lewistown, 12 grandchildren, and six siblings, Rick (Jackie) Prewitt and Bruce (Rhonda) Prewitt, both of Phoenix, Sheila (Larry) Beaty of Manville, TX, Pauletta Gori of Needville, TX, Carla (Tom) Walton of Nashville, TN, and Mike Prewitt of Channelview, TX and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was a member of the first graduating class of Trevor Browne High School in Phoenix and worked for many years as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed many crafts including crocheting, and sewing, and loved playing various games. She was also a big fan of Elvis Presley.
Funeral services will begin at 2:30 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview, with visitation from noon to 2:30 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Huntsville Cemetery.
