Gerald Kress Snapp, 71, of Quincy, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Bay Care Alliant Hospital in Dunedin, Florida surrounded by his wife and friend of 40 years, Sonny Sword. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on June 28, 1942 to the late Vernon and Mary Kress Snapp. He married the former Carol Ewing in May 2001, and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter Shelley (Victor) Bond; a son Jerry Snapp; two grandchildren Tyler and Brady; six great grandchildren; two step-children Tammy (Bryan) Henry and John (Jennifer) Engle; seven step-grandchildren.
Gerald graduated from Riverside High School. He worked for Airstream, was a self-employed bee keeper and worked the Renaissance Festival where he was known as the “Basket Man”. He was also a member of Boggs Lodge #292 F&AM.
Pastor Keith Matthews will officiate a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be two hours prior with a Masonic service beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Riverside School District.
