Norman L. Sickles, Sr., 66, of Russells Point, OH, passed away early Friday morning, March 14, 2014 at Dayton VA Medical Center.
Norm was born on August 7, 1947 in Kenton, OH to the late Roy & Edith E. Claybaugh Sickles. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Sickles and Rick Sickles.
He is survived by three children, Lynn Richardson, Norm Sickles, Jr., and Barb Norris, all of Louisville, KY, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Brenda Donegan of Marion, OH, a brother, Craig Sickles, of Belle Center, and mother of his children and special friend, Terry Sickles.
Norm was a 1965 graduate of West Liberty High School. He was retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service including serving in Vietnam. He was a life member of Doyle R. Miller AMVETS Post #39 in Lakeview, and a member of VFW Post 1080 in Bellefontaine. Norm enjoyed watching NASCAR, football, college basketball and baseball. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes fan.
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation from 2-4 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
