Kayo L. Wirick

Kayo L. Wirick, 72, of West Liberty, passed away Friday morning, March 14, 2014 at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born in Bellefontaine on February 16, 1942 to the late Herbert and Ruth E. (Grimes) Wirick. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Rick Allen and Jeffrey Lynn Wirick.

Kayo married the former Melanie Kegg on February 18, 1962 in West Liberty and she survives in West Liberty. He is also survived by a son, Ryan (Cindy) Wirick of West Liberty; daughter-in-law Dianna (Dale) Ward of West Liberty; six grandchildren, Nicholas Wirick, Zak Wirick, Ciarra Wirick, Grant Ward, Blake Wirick and Jessica (fiancé, Michael Lowe) Wirick; a sister, Joyce (Steve) McCollough of West Liberty; several aunts and uncles; and special friends, Richard McDaniel and Larry Byers.

Kayo retired from Acrux Security where he had worked for 18 years. He had also worked as a press operator for the Bellefontaine Examiner and in the warehouse at Super Foods. In his spare time, Kayo was a major NASCAR fan and enjoyed all sports. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his dog, Katy. Kayo loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed all their sports.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11am at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macochee Joint Ambulance, 113 W. Newell St., West Liberty, Ohio 43357 or to Mary Rutan Hospital, 205 Palmer Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.

The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.edsfh.com.
