Jerome Craig Hicks, 34, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Lima on April 16, 1979 to Clarke W. and Deborah S. (Klopfenstein) Hicks, who both survive in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by his children, Teia Hicks and Jerome Smith both of Bellefontaine; sisters, Kerri (Alex) Arredondo of Findlay and Nikki Hicks of Bellefontaine; his grandmother, Helen Klopfenstein of Bellefontaine; a niece Mahailia “Hailie” Adams; and close friends, Brenda Lyburtus, and Russell and Tammy Wampler.
Jerome was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Earl E. and Clarabelle Hicks, Sr. and maternal grandfather, Karl E. Klopfenstein.
He worked as an asphalt finisher at Chemcote in Marysville and had been a stamped concrete finisher. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and tools. Jerome took great pride in his work and he loved his children.
Funeral services will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 6pm with Pastor Jonathan Bull officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be at a later date in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
