Betty J. Kennedy, 74, of Rushsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born on December 16, 1938 in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Harold and Gladys (Brooks) Farrington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kennedy on September 18, 1994; a son, John Wilgus; and her siblings, Irene Grabiel and James and Russell Farrington.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Saylor, Kim Wilgus, both of Bellefontaine; a son, Kevin (Liz Parker) Wilgus of West Mansfield; six grandchildren, Beth (Michael) Stachler, Chastity (Dean) Morris, Erica (David) Morris, Bo Wilgus, Curtis (Marianne) Wilgus, and Mindy (Josh) Ray; 13 great grandchildren; four brothers, Dallas Farrington of West Mansfield, Murl Farrington of Kenton, Dick Farrington of Sandusky; and Robert Farrington of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Donna Van Buskirk of Rushsylvania and Beverly Coleman of Florida.
Betty was a bus driver for the Benjamin Logan School District for 44 years and later worked at the former K&K Dairy Isle in Belle Center for almost 20 years.
She was a member of the United Wagon Train and the Central Ohio Wagon Train and enjoyed crocheting, working on puzzles, and showing draft horses.
Pastor Gene Phelps will officiate an 11:00 am funeral service on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013. Burial will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
