Dorothy R. Cox, 89, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Scioto County, Ohio on July 12, 1924 to the late Ollie and Ota (Humble) Mosbarger.
On August 11, 1941 she married W. Leo Cox in Magnetic Springs and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1986. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Hazel White, George Mosbarger, Martha Marmon, Margaret Mosbarger, and Irene Bailey; and sons-in-law, Benjamin Evans, Charles Martin, and Gary Legge.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Sharon (Clell) Martin-Agler of Grove City, Gary (Donna) Cox of Russells Point, Sarah Jane (Lewis) Cunningham of Rushsylvania, Barry (Cindy) Cox of Belle Center, and Beverly (Mark) Thurston of Valrico, FL; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jim Mosbarger of Albany, OR, Howard (Eileen) Mosbarger of Urbana, Don (Marsha) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine, Garnet (Fred) Roesel of Lafayette, IN, and David (Diane) Mosbarger of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of DeGraff Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Wal-Mart after working many years in the fabric department. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and was a member of Kings Daughters. She loved to sew and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. At the age of 60, Dorothy received her GED.
Visitation will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 5-8pm and on Friday one hour prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home with Mike Idle officiating. Burial will be in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
