James P. Roth, 72, of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born on February 28, 1941 in Bellefontaine, a son of the late Benjamin Sr. and Anna Roth.
On May 26, 1962 in Pickrelltown, Ohio, he married the former Sally Jane Blair and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1987.
He was a factory worker at Merchants for 26 years and at NEX for 9 years. He also worked part-time maintaining the Road Side Rest on Route 33.
He is survived by children, David (Gina) Roth of Bellefontaine, Annette Roth of Sidney, and Beverly Roth of Quincy; grandchildren, Sally Roth, Dakota Yoest, Ashley Roth, Michael Gudger, Amber Roth and Faith Ann Roth; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Roth of Findlay; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a special friend, Shirley Slicer of Quincy.
He was a member of Buckeye Gospel Barn where he was a board member for several years and was known as “Rawhide”. He enjoyed antique cars and car shows.
Pastor Bobbi Allen will officiate a graveside service on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Champaign County. Friends may call on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine.
