City man tased near downtown bar

Garrett RoseAn intoxicated city man was tased outside Moore's Cafe, 111 South Detroit Street, Saturday morning around 2:30.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Garrett Rose, 22, of 715 West Chillicothe Avenue, Apt. 4, was passed out on a bench behind the bar.

Rose woke up and became combative with officers.

Police placed Rose against a wall and ordered him three times to stop resisting.

During the struggle, Rose was tased multiple times because he refused to comply.

After the Taser was deployed a fifth time, Rose placed his hands out to the side of his head.

Bellefontaine Fire and EMS responded and removed the Taser probes on Rose. He was not injured.

Rose was charged with resisting arrest, public intoxication, open container, possession of marijuana, and illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.

While being lodged at the Logan County Jail, officers recovered a zip lock baggie containing marijuana.
